Hi-Vis Technology
At the heart of Super Armor® firefighter suit lies more than just durability and thermal protection.
It’s also engineered for visibility, a critical factor in life-saving missions.
Super Armor® integrates advanced Hi-Vis Technology directly into our suits to enhance visibility in low-light, smoky, and high-risk environments.
Retro Reflectivity
Super Armor® integrate high-quality silver reflective materials into our suits to ensure visibility when exposed to direct light, such as headlights or searchlights. These materials are strategically placed, allowing firefighters to easily spot each other in dark, smoke-filled environments.
Reflective elements play a key role in helping with quick identification and coordination during nighttime or indoor operations.
Retro-reflectivity, however, depends on an external light source to function. No lights, no reflectivity.
Fluorescence
Fluorescent materials are often incorporated with reflective tape to improve visibility. The bright yellow color reacts to UV light, making it stand out against most backgrounds. During daytime operations or in environments with ambient light, fluorescent materials help firefighters remain visible from greater distances.
Fluorescence relies on a light source to work. In darkness, fluorescence isn’t visible.
Photoluminescence
To address the limitations of retro-reflective and fluorescent materials, Super Armor® offers advanced high-vis technology, Reflective Photoluminescent tape for customers seeking enhanced visibility in darkness. The tape is perfect for situations like power outages or deep tunnel rescues. The photoluminescent materials absorb and store ambient light, then glow in the dark for a period of time, providing passive illumination to help track movement and maintain team awareness in complete darkness.
